Mr. & Mrs. Homer J. Simpson request the pleasure of your company...

So the day has arrived when 'future' episodes of the Simpsons are supposed to have occurred. Next thing you know it will be 2015 and where's our flying skateboards Marty?

In honor of this auspicious occasion here is a list of my top ten favorite episodes of the Simpsons. All eps are from the 'golden age' (seasons 1-10). I tried not to make obvious picks, you'll notice 'Mr. Plow' and 'King-Size Homer' are absent from the list despite the classic nature of such episodes... So here goes...

10. Treehouse of Horror VII [Season 8 / Episode 1]

9. Grampa vs. Sexual Inadequacy [Season 6 / Episode 10]
"We're through the looking glass here people."

8. Homer Bad Man [Season 6 / Episode 9]
"Gummi DeMilo"

7. Summer of 4 ft. 2 [Season 7 / Episode 25]

6. Joy of Sect [Season 9 / Episode 13]

5. Bart the Murderer [Season 3 / Episode 4]
Lionel Hutz: "Hi I'm your lawyer. I'll be defending you on the charge of ...(reads paper) Murder One! Even if I lose I'll be famous!"

4. You Only Move Twice [Season 8 / Episode 2]
The best villain ever. Offering a great benefit /vacation package. Episode also includes classic Otto moments.

3. A Fish Called Selma [Season 7 / Episode 19]
If you can not get the tunes from Planet of The Apes the Musical stuck in your head you are a better man than I.

2. The Boy Who Knew Too Much [Season 5 / Episode 20]
The only thing better than Mayor Quimby is possibly his family.

And my favorite all time episode...
1.One Fish, Two Fish, Blue Fish, Blowfish [Season 2 / Episode 11]
This is everything that I love about Simpsons. Funny and heartfelt while not being saccharine. I couldnt find any clips from the episode but here's Homer's list of things to do in his last 24 hours-

Here's a few bonus clips - from Season 6, episode 2 "Lisa's Rival." Probably the best side storyline ever, Homer and his Sugar.

AND Finally from 'Homer vs. The 18th Amendment'... A line to use whenever making a fancy toast.
